How is a Servant Keeper license defined?
Servant Keeper® License is sold to a named organization under a Site License. The License is permission for an organization to use Servant Keeper®, and is a one-time fee.
For On-Premises (local) deployments the License includes one Seat and the licensed organization can purchase additional Seats to install Servant Keeper® on additional desktop or laptop computers. Each Seat allows the software to be installed on a single computer.
For Servant PC Cloud deployments this provides for the use of web-based, desktop, and mobile applications as long as the organization maintains a current cloud subscription. Also, for Servant PC Cloud users, all applications can be used and installed on an unlimited number of devices.
What is a Seat License?
Seats licenses are for On Premises (local) deployments. A seat is a license to activate an additional computer for organizations that have purchased a Servant Keeper® site license. For On Premises deployments, every computer requires a seat license. Seats are sold for a nominal one-time fee. Seats can be transferred to another computer used by that organization if needed.
What is a User?
A User is a person with access to the Servant Keeper system. Users are defined by their unique login that grants security privileges to various portions of an organization’s Servant Keeper® database. Servant Keeper® will allow unlimited users to be created in the database, and there are nearly limitless variations of user access privileges that can be assigned allowing you to keep your data safe and confidential.
For ServantPC Cloud deployments the number of active Users will determine the subscription level for that organization.
How does licensing and support apply to a multi-campus scenario?
Servant Keeper® site license is licensed per named organization. If there are multiple organizations/churches planning on using Servant Keeper® they will need a separate Servant Keeper® site license per organization. To determine if you qualify as one organization or multiple organizations, use this guideline: if the organizations have the SAME tax I.D. AND are operating their actual ministry (not just the administration duties) from the same location then one site license is required. Multi-campus and multi-church organizations (Diocese, etc) will require a site license for each campus.
examples:
Need One(1) Initial SK Licenses
-
Church with a Christian School at the same location, using the same nine digit Tax I.D. number – One(1) Initial Servant Keeper license and a seat license for each additional computer.
- Church and Daycare meeting at the same location , using the same nine digit Tax I.D. number – One(1) Initial Servant Keeper license and a seat license for each additional computer.
Need Two(2) or more Initial SK Licenses
-
Church with a Christian School at different locations, but using the same nine digit Tax I.D. number – Two(2) Initial Servant Keeper licenses and additional seat licenses as needed.
-
Church with a Christian School at the same location but using different nine digit Tax I.D. numbers – Two(2) Initial Servant Keeper licenses and additional seat licenses as needed.
- Two churches meeting at different places but sharing the same administrative offices – Two(2) Initial Servant Keeper licenses and additional seat licenses as needed.
- Two churches meeting at the same location at different times, but using separate nine digit Tax I.D. numbers – Two(2) Initial Servant Keeper licenses and additional seat licenses as needed.
- Multi-campus church with one administrative office – Two(2) or more Initial Servant Keeper licenses and additional seat licenses as needed.
Is Servant Keeper Networkable?
Servant Keeper® is networkable on nearly any network environment.
For On-Premises deployments a physical network is required if users need to work from multiple computers. Both peer-to peer networks or server based networks will work. Computers can access the database concurrently. Note: This will require proper installation by your network administrator. The customer is solely responsible for the correct installation of Servant Keeper® on a network and for having the proper settings on that network to share the database among workstations. If you are installing on a network it is advised that your network administrator or a qualified networking professional install Servant Keeper® for you.
Note: ServantPC Cloud deployments require no server or network, but only a reliable internet connection. See more on the cloud here.
What is the Servant Keeper Cloud, and how does that all work?
